Seo Taiji Comeback Special - interview with Lee Junki!

Seo Taiji made a comeback on TV with a special interview by Lee Junki and some live performances. Junki was a bit nervous and awkward but quickly got over that. The two were just beautiful to look at. And the ratings for this special episode testify to this. TNS Media Korea recorded a 9.6% rating for this episode, showing once again Seo Taiji's immense popularity (combined with that of Lee Junki) and the viewers unyielding interest in the artist. A drama in the same time slot dropped from 16% to a mere 7% just because of this comeback special.

Seo Taiji opened up for the first time about his past experience and life. He started in a rock band when he was young then formed a group called Seo Tai Ji & Boys, where he made a transition from rock to dance music. YG Entertainment's CEO (who is in charge of Big Bang), Yang Hyun Suk, was also proudly part of this band. For 4 years, they topped Korea's album charts and sweeped gayo awards. Unfortunately, Seo Taiji & Boys disbanded with Taiji publicly announcing his retirement from the music scene. His reasons for retirement was due to pressure and exhaustion, and an even greater desire to go back to normal life and take care of his parents. After a few years in America, he rescinded his retirement statement and came back with his solo album to the fervent welcome of his fans. Since then, he has released solo albums according to his own schedule. After his 7th album he went on a long hiatus (approx. 4 years), in which during the first 2 years he visited India and explored its traditional culture and music. Then he secretly came back 2 years ago to Korea to work on his album, which he has been doing non-stop. He confesses that he didn't leave the recording studio for 2 years and even forgot to take showers because he was too absorbed in his music production. He revealed that he is constantly battling his inner desire to live a normal life with his passion for music. If he were given a chance to be a common person, he would like to go to the jimjilbang (spa) with his father and also walk out on a busy street. Nevertheless, Seo Taiji has comeback with his 8th album (part1) to show off his extaordinary talent.
