DBSK rejected as guests on Music Station.

S-San (one of the Japanese staff members of Tohoshinki) made a recent post in his blog confirming the rumours about Music Station's refusal to invite DBSK into their program.

Many fans have been speculating for quite some time the reason why DBSK never appeared on the show, especially with the recent #1 on weekly Oricon (their third one, which broke a record as foreign artist with three #1s). DBSK has been consistently in the top 10 weekly in Japanese Oricon charts with their singles and last album. Music Station usually invites singers in top 10 in Oricon atleast once to perform. However, this has not been the case with DBSK, as S-San points out even with the insistence of the company to let them on fairly.

Their lack of promotions in such a major show as Music Station has become jarringly apparent and discussion spring up everytime they release a single as to why they are still not invited. Majority say that its because of Johnny's Entertainment stronghold on Music Station, pointing out that no bands/artists that posed a threat to that agency have ever been invited.

ahhhhh. Johnny's empire....I think that hypothesis is true!! I always see KAT-TUN and Arashi appearing on Music Station, but no Tohoshinki...

I'm not sure which one is music station coz I've never watched it, but I do hope TVXQ to appear there...

I feel bad for Tohoshinki.
Sure they don't need it,
considering how famous they still are
but it must be a small blow to their feelings when they weren't invited to perform
in a huge music station.

^Exactly. BoA doesn't threaten JE, which is why they don't mind her. But other boybands that are getting popular might. I think it's because if DBSK went onto Music Station, that could cut some time for JE's promotion as well when it comes to the fangirls.

But mind you, this has happened to numerous Japanese boybands as well such as w-inds.

That's sorta harsh. But then again I agree with dragonninja and noonoo_shoo, that this kind of news is not affecting the DBSK boys. They're doing fine. (^_^) oh speaking of which, congrats to them for making #1 on the Oricon Charts for three consecutive weeks. =] DBSK Hwaiting!

Boa has been on that program before. The hosts of the show is a old Japanese man (who wears sunglasses all the time) and a young Japanese woman.

But this can cause DBSK to have slow fan base.......Music Station is like a our MTV(in the old days before all this reality crap). It's like if you want to get your group recognize you have to go on these programs to reach a wider audience.

Johnny Ent has strong hold on a lot of music and drama programs in Japan.....

I like HEY HEY HEY Music Champion better anyways. Downtown is hella funny they always make fun of the Johnny groups.

^Yeah. I prefer to watch them on HeyX3. The hosts are funny and its more fun to watch >.<

But DBSK was able to share #1 with a Johnny group. Maybe next time they will pass them!

Heh, I can imagine that if any of JE boys want to do a show in Korea, they're gonna get the same treatment there since LSM part in Korea is equivalent to what JE is in Japan.

^It's not like SM doesn't rig things already to other Korean groups. So no different anyways.

I don't get people actually care about this because it's been happening for so long with Music Station.

Meh, I honestly don't like Music Station anyway. Whenever Morning Musume performs there, the performances are cut super short and everything looks so bright and unnecessary. It's kind of cheap looking to me at least.

You guys might not know this, but alot of popular artists in Japan, when releasing stuff in Korea, are under SM Entertainment. Just go to their website -- ARASHI (thats a JE band), Ayumi Hamasaki, Koda ... they are all under SM.

So I am not sure if they would recieve the same treatement if they were even interested in performing in Korea.
