YG + Mnet Media = music powerhouse

Mnet Media and YG Entertainment are now official business partners.

Mnet has acquired 10% shares of YG Entertainment and YG Entertainment and also Yang Hyun Suk have secured a part of Mnet Media, which strengthened the partnership between the two companies.

The agreement between the two has also given Mnet Media the rights to exclusively distribute in Korea and aborad the albums and digital music of YG Entertainment singers.

According to Mnet Media President Park Kwang Won, Mnet Media not only has coverage on YG Entertainment’s music but also in the future its television and concert contents. Moreover, with its partnership with YG Entertainment, Park said that it will enable the two companies to be a music powerhouse in Asia.

I can't tell if this is a good thing or not. It sounds like it but i'm not sure....

I think they'll be strong enough to counter SM...but poor JYP, he might get left out of the competition if he doesn't come up with another idol

Poor JYP nothing. JYP took in a load off the Wonder Girls last year alone. Theres a article somewhere about it. While LSM still only holds 9.4 bil won as top shareholder of SM. Sad. Just how much is SM worth if the top sharehold holds at only 8-9 million US dollars? I doubt YG is any better. JYP seems to be doing a-ok. I think he really knows how to market well or something.

JYP doesn't really has anybody else except the Wonder girls who seems only do wonder at Tell Me dance and song at the moment...if they don't come out with another hit or release another new talents to take over Korean music scene, he will have nothing compare to SM and YG...
