It's not like Jonhy deep created it. I mean people who live in sahara wear it since forever, guys too (and in the desert it's more men than women.) That's why you always see nefertiti or cleopatra with khol and eye liner. I wear khol and eyes liner since more than 10 year now, (Arab do wear it everyday since they're 15) it wasn't even the trend for girls, yet.
So well, it's not new and it's certainly not coming from West.

That aside, yes they look hot with khol and eye liner; the purpose is giving a bigger shape to their eyes and it works!

I think some guys can rock the eye-liner (imo - junki and heechul~)
