Only four of them went: Jess, Tiff, Yuri, and Sooyoung. Elle magazine needed two of the girls to go to NYC for a business trip. Obviously, they chose the english speakers, Jess and Tiff. Yuri and Sooyoung went too, because Elle magazine needed extra help.

Oh yeah, another thing. They were not there to corrupt New York, they're just minding their own business. GEEZ. Why would you guys wanna run them over?
